Moral Anarchy by Joe Burke When we reject God and the bible we reject truth and we are preyed upon by every lie that comes down the pike. When we don't stand with the truth we will fall for any devious lie of the enemy. We make ourselves God and we decide what is the truth for us. All truth becomes relative. The result is moral anarchy and God hands us over to our impurities, lusts, degrading passions and undiscerning minds
Researchers George Barna and Mark Hatch argue in their new book, "Boiling Point", that most Americans are deeply confused and have undiscerning minds about spiritual matters. But the thing that was a real eye-opener was that Barna found that "born-again" Christians are almost as confused about the faith as everybody else. Of those classified as "born-again" believers, 68 percent believe the Bible teaches that God helps those who help themselves; one-fourth believe that Jesus committed sins while on earth; and only about half believe that the Holy Spirit and Satan are living entities, not just symbols. Thirty percent believe Jesus was not physically resurrected and about a third believe all religions teach the same basic truths. Thirty six percent are still trying to figure out the purpose and meaning of their lives and 28 percent believe you can lead a full and satisfying life without pursing spiritual maturity. These are so called "born again" Christians! God help us!
Barna also notes: "A highly possible outcome in our society is moral anarchy. This means that America would devolve into a society in which people refuse to recognize or live in obedience to any laws, rules, regulations, customs, traditions, courtesies or norms unless they feel like doing so. At the risk of sounding like an alarmist, I believe the Church in America has no more than five years - probably less - to turn itself and this culture around." God has handed us over to our undiscerning minds. As Barna and Hatch put it, "the Church is rotting from the inside out, crippled by a-biblical theology"
If the Church is crippled, society is on life support. We
have madness of every sort. From test-tube babies to rent-a-womb to the soon to
appear, human cloning. In a column by Lawrence Hall in the Newark Star Ledger on
8/15/01, he reported: "Apparently, anything goes. A case in point is a
51-year-old lesbian who six months ago gave birth to her brother's baby, conceived using a
donor egg. According to Dr. Mark Sauer of Columbia University, where the procedure took
place, the unidentified woman wanted to bear a child "of common Human cloning is here! Scientists are working on it right now. Designing your own child will be here tomorrow. Sub-humans to do our dirty work the day after. God has handed us over to our undiscerning minds. We have moral anarchy.
Our only hope is repentance, prayer and fasting for our land by all believing Christians. The time is very late. We need prophets in our pulpits. We need leaders with discernment and vision. We need our pastors to proclaim a fast, call an assembly, gather the people and cry out to the Lord for mercy. Perhaps the Lord will again have pity on us and heal our land. Come Lord Jesus! |
